Steve Jobs' Salary?
I was just reading an article about Apple’s fiscal year for 2007 and it mentioned the fact that Steve Jobs is paid $1 a year by Apple. I don’t think he is broke considering all his stock options and his own Gulfstream IV purchased by the company but he has kept his salary of $1 a year for the past decade. USA Today article link here:...

Bananas over Texas
I keep meaning to post this but keep forgetting. How can I forget this, you ask?? http://www.geostationarybananaovertexas.com/en.html - Project Banana over Texas is a real project to lift a giant banana into geosynchronous orbit over Texas to where the sky would hold it for 1 24-hour period. Here is the article from WIRED magazine: http://www.wired.com/culture/art/news/2007/01/72550

So....man is an island now - take Dubai →
I hear about people going to Dubai but I had no idea for what purpose until I started looking at some videos and satellite photos like at the site I link to here. Dubai is a place where people are their own islands and then designing their own resorts. At first look, I thought I was looking into Second Life vistas but then I saw images of real island plans and homes. Its amazing! The designs of...

Cloverfield - a review
No spoilers!  You know how in big budget movies about the end times or an alien invasion, we see the military strikes commanded by a group of generals demanding nuclear strike? How about the government not knowing what to do and you learn about these “keystone cop” types of officials who can’t function in the real world? What about the storyline of the uninitiated hero who has to...

Simon →
Ohh! Its the game of Simon. I used to play this as a kid on that lap-sitting sized game board. I used to play it until I got so sick of it beating me and I would throw it to the ground. Don’t throw your laptop or desktop if you start playing it. Another fun toy can be found in Etchy - http://www.etchy.org.

Skin power
I just read an article about a patent request submitted by Sony to create a Skin-Powered system for headphones. Basically the idea is to send a signal from the music device at between 500 KHz and 3 MHz through the skin up to the receiver in the headphones. The device doesn’t even have to touch the skin but the signal will travel through the skin of the person wearing said device. Makes...

Photosynth →
Microsoft’s new Live Labs site (sounds similar to…I dunno….Google Labs??!) offers Photosynth - an interactive photosharing software tool in development.  I don’t think photo viewing on a computer is going to be restricted to two-dimensional with this program. Imagine it blending with Google Maps…oops, I mean Microsoft Live 3D Maps. The photos become fully functional...
